Obituary of Dora "Omi" J. O'Connor

Dora "Omi" J. O'Connor, age 85, a proud and loving grandmother, passed away peacefully at home with family present.She was born on October 6, 1932 to Ernst and Charlotte (Schueler) Schmidt in Leipzig, Germany.Omi was married in Stuttgart, Germany in 1953 to Francis O'Connor. She became a proud U.S. citizen in 1957, mothered three children, and was called "Omi" by many. She was a longtime resident of Security and Widefield.Omi worked as an assembler for Ampex, and she also spent her time as a homemaker. Her retirement from Ampex was filled with international travels and quick day trips to Cripple Creek.
