Obituary of Rose Marie McDonald

Rose Marie McDonald died peacefully on Wednesday January 10, 2018, just shy of her 80th birthday at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs Colorado. Rose was born February 9, 1938 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Earl "Tex" and Henrietta Craig. Rose Marie enjoyed quilting, gardening, ceramics, and playing cards especially with her grandchildren. Rose Marie graduated from Fairmont High School.On April 16, 1956 Rose Marie married Gerald McDonald. They were stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army and afterward moved back to Fairmont where they raised their five children. After his military service, Gerald "Jerry" worked for 3M Co. Rose Marie worked as a title account manager for a local GM dealer for twenty-three years, and won numerous awards in accounting. Rose Marie and Jerry moved to a hobby farm on the edge of Granada where she loved to garden, and operated a ceramics shop from her homeRose Marie moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2011 where she lived the remainder of her life. She attended Rocky Mountain Calvary Church.Rose Marie is survived by her three daughters, Debra (Bing) Salic, Cindy (Kelly) Hand, and Sue (Jeff) Greischar; two sons, Steve (Lori) McDonald, and Brad McDonald; she also leaves behind her eleven grandchildren, Charlie Salic, Betsy (Neil) Hiatt, Andy Salic, Joshua (Melinda) Hand, Lindsay Hand, Hillary (Christoph) Gruener, Brent (Kelsey) McDonald, Shaylee McDonald, Vanna (Justin) Anker, Laurel Greischar, and Shauna Greischar; additionally, she leaves behind her six great-grandchildren, Shane, Elliott, Liam, Stella, Blake, and Emily; as well as numerous loving relatives and friends.Rose Marie requested to be an organ donor in honor of her late husband Gerald McDonald.A Memorial Service is being planned for a future date.
