Obituary of Leslie Louise Haycock

Leslie Haycock, age 74, died on January 30, 2018 at her home in Colorado Springs.� She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and a woman of family, honor, and integrity.Leslie Louise Johnson was born on September 4, 1943 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Lester and Betty (Dearhorn) Johnson.� She grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from high school in 1961.� She then attended Secretarial School.She met Richard Haycock in Chicago at the RR Donnelley & Sons Company where they both worked.� They soon married and raised a family.They moved from Illinois to Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1986. Leslie loved to bowl, paint, and play golf.� She took on a number of leadership roles in her golf circles.� She recently was part of the Valley Hi Women's Golf Association and bowled at Harmony Bowl.� She will be best remembered for her keen wit, wonderful sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and the care she took for her beloved family.�She is survived by her daughter, Karyn Haycock of Colorado Springs; her grandchildren, Callie and Zachary Pommenville; and a host of friends.�Leslie was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Haycock, in 2009; and her son, John "Dan" Haycock, in 1989.
