Obituary of Wallace "Walt" Elliott Sharpe
Wallace Elliott Sharpe, 82, passed away February 17, 2018 peacefully at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Walt was born March 26, 1935 in Los Angeles, California, to Irwin Sharpe and Leona Sporn.Walt was a native of Venice Beach, California. He was a proud honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy. He was a SFM3, a shipfitter and metal smith for the Navy.While living in California, Walt had a fascinating job with Paramount Pictures as a greensman, building movie sets for such shows at Bonanza, and movies like the Clint Eastwood classic, "Paint Your Wagon." Eventually life brought him to Colorado, where he worked and eventually retired from Penrose Hospital. There, he was a carpenter and finally the maintenance supervisor at the time of retirement. In 2008, Walt fought and beat Stage 4 throat cancer, and was a proud survivor.Walt loved his music, listening and playing, especially the harmonica. He loved poetry and art. In his younger years, he was an avid mountain biker. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and his family was extremely important to him.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Sharpe; and sister; Linda Sharpe.Walt is survived by his son, Christian Sharpe; daughters, Chryses Menefee, Fair (Joshua) Tyler, Darcy (Ralph) Davis, Mardou (Rodney) Evans, and Alicia Milliken; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his wife and best friend, Marilyn Sharpe.
