Dear big brother, we were the best brother anyone could have had... I was lucky because you were my big brother.. you were kind, strong, loving, never angry, always happy and cheerful and happy to be around your family and always willing to help or be there to do anything that needed to be done... I remember you taking us to the drive in movies and it was 2 for one and it was a car full... we use to take the lawn chairs.I did not know about this but you took us all and we had a great time.. That was when we watched Mash... we laughed to much. and then later in life you would come by and have lunch with me and we would have these great talks and great lunches.. just the two of us.. You love the pink panther and you love to watch national geographic you had the magazines and then the movies. you loved oriental food and love tacos and mexican rice, you loved ice tea. You didn't drink or smoke but you love playboy and to read the newpaper, you love the funnies . You were a hard working man that was dedicated to his family, you love being a dad. a grandad and were proud to be a great grandad, lived for the family and you enjoyed life to the fullest, you were always my MIGUELITO I will miss you my dear brother. and our talks. I feel for my sister in law Shirley that was my brothers partner all of there adult life, and there two girls and the extended family . You leave us to soon, but rest assure that you will be remembered by you loving brothers and sisters always... we love you your sister lillian

I would like to begin by not only sending my condolences to his siblings but also to his entire side of the family as well. My earliest memories of my uncle Michael were from the mid-80s when my mother and I came to visit Houston. I remember him when he didn't have his white hair. He and my aunt Shirley lived in league city on the outskirts of the city of Houston.. I remember their house, and their backyard with their wiener dogs. I remember that uncle Michael and my aunt Shirley used to buy me the Mini Pages; they were so sweet and encouraging towards me to learn different things and to practice speaking English as well as not being so shy. Linette and Michelle were very sweet to me as well. I remember uncle Michael's laugh, I remember him always trying to tell a story, I remember his loud voice, I remember that if you would sit and watch a movie that he had seen he would talk all the way through the whole thing... telling you watch here, this is coming up, this is the killer, he stole the money, essentially ruining the movie for you in the most hilarious way! He was a very joyous and happy personality. I can confidently say that he loved his family very much so. I would love to say one final thank you for his love and well wishes! Love you uncle Michael! My mother wishes to say that she loved her brother very much! Never had a mean bone in his body! She says that she remembers when they used to go to the drive-in movie for about two dollars a car full... and they would take lawn chairs and look for the double feature! She recalls that they learned hard work from him! She remembers when he would come by and eat lunch when he was close by and that they would have some great chats. She remembers that he was always so full of life! And he loved his family!! Constantine&Lillian+Koumantos family

Mike was my eldest brother and was a great person. He had a very interesting life, he was a military child and travel long and far with his parents, when he was 10 years old his parents moved to Mexico City and Mike adapted extremely well with his new home. He was a good student mastering Spanish very quickly and was a great artist when he was a young man, he loved drawing "rat fink hot rods" and built model cars. He was an extremely happy person, compatible with everyone. He became very interested in the history of Mexico, the Mayan, the Incas, etc. At the age of 18 he arrived in Houston and began his life there. Being bi-lingual he had many job opportunities and he was admired and appreciated by all the companies he worked for. He usually became the man in charge very quickly. His skills were self taught, he was knowledgeable and skilled in many facets of remodeling and construction, he had an ease with math, had a great sense of humor, he was quite comical, usually making you laugh for hours. He was a devoted husband to Shirley and father to Linette and Michelle and all his extended family. He truly was a wonderful person. He will be missed so much, our hearts are broken over this devastating loss. Mike was always very healthy and should have lived a lot more years. God Bless You My Sweet and Darling Brother! Your Sister, Madeleine
