As the picture that sits in her house states, "Our family is like the branches of a tree. We may grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one."Nellie was an outgoing, fun, loving, caring person that instantly touched people's lives with her bright smile and kind heart. She LOVED music! She was always singing and dancing to oldies, whether it was when she was cleaning, cooking, or just dancing with her grandchildren in the kitchen.Nellie is preceded in death by her son, Adrian; sister, Sophie; her parents, Geneva and Tom; nephews, Mark, Mario, Nash, Danny, and Dave; and niece Val.She is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Carlos Moreno; children, Dannette Carabajal, Carlos (Nicole) Ortiz, Melissa (Paul) Grier, and Xiomara Moreno; seven grandchildren, Desire' and Dylan Carabajal, Alicia, Josie and Carla Ortiz, Talia Grier, and Paul Grier, IV; sisters, Rosie Dominguez, Jenny Rael, Sara Garcia, Virginia Baca, Frances Chacon, and Linda Kiefer; and her brothers, John Ortiz and Raymond Dominguez. She's in the sun, the wind, the rain, she's in the air you breathe with every breath you take. She sings a song of hope and cheer, there's no more pain, no more fear. You'll see her in the clouds above, hear her whisper words of love. You'll be together before long, until then listen for her song. -Christy Ann MartineThe family would like to extend our sincere gratitude for the team of caregivers, Lillie Love, Nicole Brownlee, and Brittany Clark from New Century Hospice.
