Obituary of Montie Ray Dowdy

Montie Dowdy 78, loving husband, father, grandfather and good friend to all passed away April 18, 2018.Montie was born in Cherokee, Oklahoma to Alvie T. Dowdy and Mary Opal Dowdy. He was one of five children. Montie moved to Espanola, New Mexico In 1960. He graduated from Espanola High School on December 31, 1960 and married his high school sweetheart Helen Hennigh. Montie enjoyed hunting, camping, motorcycle riding, and visiting with family and friends. Montie had a great sense of humor. He retired as a pipefitter for local union 58.He is survived by son, Steve Dowdy; wife Johanna of Colorado Springs; daughter, Debbie Spill, husband Ed of New Mexico; Darla Wooden of Colorado Springs; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister.
