Obituary of Jesse John Soyk

The world lost a beautiful soul on Saturday, April 28 when Jesse John Soyk, age 43, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, took his own life. Jesse was a caring and compassionate person who recognized the suffering of individuals he met, which led him to his passion to create the Republic of Geek Twitch channel. Through this format he was able to share his love of gaming but more importantly, he was able to use it as a platform to share his message of encouragement to take a moment and notice those around us, no matter the differences.He especially wanted us to know that God gave us one mouth and two ears, so that we could really strive for a simple act of kindness-just listening and allowing someone to be heard. Take the time to say a simple hello and ask each other how they're doing. Be willing to stop and ask why someone is crying and really-just listen. We never know what someone is going through. Empathy for others can only happen if we take the time to listen. Take time to interact, empathize, and encourage those around us, and to be present in each others lives. Jesse is survived by the most important person to ever come into his life, his son; John "Jack" Crichton Kessler. He is also survived by his parents, David and Sandi Soyk, his brother; Trevor (Laura) Soyk, and their sons; Noah and Anderson, his brother; Nathan Soyk, and his sister; Kaitlin Soyk, all of Colorado Springs.Jesse is now with his loving Savior, Jesus Christ, and is no longer suffering the pain he endured on Earth. His smile, laugh, voice, and encouragement will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
