Obituary of Alice Faye Hamilton

Alice Hamilton, age 80, died on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Medalion Retirement Community in Colorado Springs. She had retired from Lockheed Martin and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.Alice Faye Schwartz was born on November 10, 1937 in Grand Island, Nebraska to the late Gustaf and Faye (Kerns) Schwartz. She grew up in Chadron and Aurora, Nebraska and was a 1955 graduate of Chadron High School. She married Harold Hamilton on February 12, 1956 in Chadron and the young family moved to Colorado Springs in 1963. She worked in the finance offices of Lockheed Martin and previously had worked in a church, a school lunch program and all the while was a mother and homemaker.Alice was a cake decorator, a church volunteer, and a skilled bridge and pinocle player. She was an avid bowler and talented cross-stitcher. She will be best remembered for her owl collection and love of country music. She is survived by her daughter: Jean (Duane) Garrabrant of Golden, Colorado; her son: David (Deborah) Hamilton of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her sister: Dany Jo Hope of Tacoma, Washington; her sister: Judy Quagliana of Westfield, New York and three grandchildren: Matthew, MarLee and Liam. She also has a great-grandson: Tristan.She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold, her son: Michael and her grandson: Sean.Memorial Service: 11:00AM Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4925 E. Farmingdale Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918. A reception will follow at the Christ Center at the Church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.Blessed be her memory.
