Obituary of Carol Jeanne Holt

Carol Jeanne Holt, age 83, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at Pikes Peak Hospice. Carol Jeanne was born on March 3, 1935 in Yuma, Colorado to Harry and Esther Wolff. She grew up in Yuma, active in band, sports, and horse riding. After graduating from high school in Yuma, she spent a short time in Ft. Collins attending CSU. She married Floyd Holt and had two sons, Steve and Dan. After divorcing in the early 1960's, she became a single parent with two young sons. Along with her job working for the Federal Food Stamp Program in Wray, she supplemented her income for many years by taking in sewing projects from town members, including many, many cheerleading uniforms and Club jackets. Carol loved her garden and was known for a vast variety and colors of iris. She lived in Yuma until 1986, then moved along with son, Dan, to Colorado Springs, Colorado. She worked for the Pikes Peak Library District until 2017, and then moved into the Broadmoor Court Assisted Living Center.Carol Jeanne loved her pets and always had a dog or cat (or both) in residence. She also loved her cars and was fond of having Dan drive her around the area. One of their favorite adventures was a trip to Canada that she and Dan took before the move to Colorado Springs in 1986. She was an avid Broncos and Rockies fan and loved to attend games. She was affectionately known as the "fun aunt" to her nieces and nephews, because they could talk and laugh with her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Esther Wolff; brother, Robert Wolff; sister, Joanne Ball; and grandson, Nicholas Holt. She is survived by son, Steve (Judy) Holt from Windsor, Colorado; son, Dan Holt from Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandson, Travis Holt from Denver, Colorado; and numerous nephews and nieces.
