Obituary
Obituary of Lowell Dean "Pete" Peterson
Lowell, also known as "Pete", attended schools in Iowa and graduated high school in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was a meat cutter for Hormel in Fort Dodge. Delores Julan Lloyd, a gorgeous ocean-eyed girl and independent gal, also lived in Fort Dodge. Love is a many-splendored thing! They were married at The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa in 1952. After moving to Colorado Springs, he worked for a few other companies, finally retiring from School District 8. Pete was an Army Veteran and proudly served his country. He served in the Korean War. He often got teary eyed while listening to patriotic music. He insisted that his American Flag was flown every day outside his front door, ALWAYS saying each time "I fly this for Michael, and all of our soldiers, but I want to think of Michael," his grandson in the Army.Pete had a magnificent gift of music. He played the piano, organ, accordion, tuba, and more. He entertained his family, friends, played for weddings, memorials, and parties. He invented "Name that Tune," playing parts of a song with family and friends gathering and have them guess the song. He could easily play any song that he heard by ear. His son, Todd, also received the great gift of music and the gift lives on. Lowell is playing the organ for Jesus now, and his fingers aren't bent and crooked anymore. He is preceded in death by his wife, Delores Julan Peterson. Pete is survived by three children, Todd Arthur Peterson and wife, Melissa of California, Julie Julan Shacklee of Colorado Springs, and Jenifer Ann Cronk and husband, Richard Cronk; four grandchildren, Michael Tomas Shacklee and wife, April of Alabama, Kyle Dean Shacklee of Texas, Hanah Julan Cronk of Colorado Springs, and Sarah Ann Cronk of Colorado Springs; three great-grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Shacklee, Lillian Belle Shacklee, and Aubrey Gabriel Shacklee, all of Alabama. With so much Love Dad... We Love you and miss you, but all you know is Glory now! Thank You Jesus!Lowell will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends."I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
