Obituary of Robert "Jerry" Miller
Robert "Jerry" Miller of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2018. He was surrounded by his wife and two children. Jerry was born on December 11, 1939 to Robert and Katherine Miller, who preceded him in death.He was a native of Colorado Springs, and graduated from CSHS (Palmer). He worked several jobs while providing for his family, including Clark's Service Station, Colliers, and Crissy Fowler Lumber.He started with the CSFD in 1968 and retired as a driver in 1993. He and his wife Jan enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling before and after he retired. He stayed active within the Fire Department for the next twenty-six years, doing various things such as visiting the guys and gals at the Fire Stations, playing Santa for ten years and the Easter Bunny for two years for the CSFD children.His favorite part time job was calling his fellow firefighters on their birthdays for over the last twenty-five years, and keeping the pot stirred.Jerry is survived by his wife of sixty years, Janet (Jan); his son, Dan; daughter, Sheri Demarais; brother, Terry (Sue); two sisters, Sharon Popp and Ellie Whitney; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
