Naomi "Nomie" Flynn Mayberry, 76, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 with her beloved family by her side. Naomi's new assignment, in heaven, will be a joyful reunion with her Lord, and the love of her life, "Sam", to include family and friends she has not seen in a long time.Naomi's new journey will take her to all the things she loved and enjoyed throughout her life. Her new mission will most certainly include love, hugs, and laughter; which she loved the most. Naomi was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, mammo, great-mammo, and friend. In the Mayberry family, nothing was sacred, we poked fun at everything, and Naomi, "Mom," greatly enjoyed this along with her coffee, being married to Sam, her children, grand and great-grand children, and boasting about kicking our butts at fishing.Naomi entered this world on June 3, 1942 in Colorado Springs, as the youngest of five, to Naomi Doty and John Flynn. As a young woman, Naomi enjoyed working as a waitress at Barthel's Restaurant while attending her senior year at St. Mary's Catholic School. Naomi retired from Giuseppe's in 2008. Soon after graduation, Naomi married the love of her life, Sam Mayberry, on July 23, 1960. Four beautiful children resulted from this union. She is preceded in death by her mother, Naomi; father, John; brothers, John and Tom; sisters, Norma and Doris; grandson, Danny Vetrano; and her beloved "Sam," in 2005. Naomi is survived by her children; daughter, Stacy (Drew) Albers; grandsons, Branden and Bryce Holtorf; great-grandson, Aiden; great-granddaughter, Autumn; daughter, Kimberly (Donald) McClure; grandsons, Josh (Kayleigh), Andrew (Dani), Austin; and granddaughter, Siobain (Nathan); son, Michael (Gail) Mayberry; granddaughter, Shelby; grandsons, Tommy, Todd (Beccah), Glen Vetrano; great-granddaughter, Sophia; great-grandson, Prestyn; granddaughter, Cassie (Adam); great-grandson, Damon; and great granddaughter, Evalani; daughter, Monica (Doug) Douglass; grandsons, Chad (Kelsey), Aaron; sisters-in-law, Vonda (Tom) Koppers, Soni (George) Mayberry; brother-in-law, Lew (Donna) Smethers; and many nieces and nephews.Celebration of Life, 12:00PM-4:30PM, Saturday, July 28, 2018, La Cresta Mobile Estates, 205 North Murray Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80916.In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the CSPPA Fallen Officer Relief Fund at http://csppa.org/fallen-officers/, or visit 516 North Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903, phone: 719-634-0058.
