Obituary of Jamal Earnest Mazyck

Sunrise - June 12, 1990Sunset - July 18, 2018"So enjoy this day and ALL THE LOVE that comes with it. Because that's what it is all about." quote from a Hallmark Mother's Day card from Jamal, 2018.Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you?Be strong and courageous.Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.Psalm 23:4 - Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.Isaiah 40:8 - The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of God will stand forever.Jamal came into this world weighing in at 1 pound 9 ounces. He spent the first four months in the hospital, proving to everyone he was going to be a fighter. One day at home he stopped breathing but after CPR and a few more days in the hospital he was again proving that he was stronger than we could even image a little baby could be. He was on oxygen for just over the first two years but that did not slow him down a bit.Our most precious memories was when Jamal was just about 4 or 5, he just knew he was John Elway, and whoever he was talking to was Shannon Sharpe. And if you happened to be Shannon Sharpe you had to be ready to catch that sweet pass he was ready to throw at you. He had a nice spiral, better than some of the older and much bigger kids around. He was a Bronco, not just a fan.He was also an avid fan of Michael Jordan. When the games were on TV he was on the court right along with the rest of the team, at least that is what it seemed like to him and everyone else "trying" to watch the game. Once MJ retired he came on over to join the Nuggets. Not many conversations took place without football or basketball being the topic.Another memory we share is Jamal did a great impersonation of "The Peoples Eyebrow" - every WWF and The Rock fan knows what this is, if not, just Google it, you will smile.Jamal is preceded in death by his father, Earnest (July 8, 2012); and his mom's sister, Aunt Joann (January 22, 2012). Both meant so much to him and he always said he missed them and wanted to see them again. He leaves so many memories with a slew of family and friends, here is a list of only a few:His mom, Gina Mazyck; brothers, Rickcardo Haeffner, Akeem Ray, James Mazyck and Earnest Mazyck, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Dorthea Stehlik. Many maternal aunts, uncles, and cousins including:Aunt Joann's children and grandchildren, Koren (Shanteyla, Javon, Quentin, Elijah), Danielle (D'Ante, David (dec'd), Xavier), Derrisca (Serenty, Jedediah, Isis), and Keean.Aunt Kim, children and grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband, Tony (Dazion, Aryianna, Eddie), Natalie (John, Carson, Dominick), and Lucia (Trinity, Micah, Kyrra, Mya Rae).Aunt Verna, Uncle Moses and children and grandchildren, Demitrius and wife, Jennifer (Nariah, Nalayah, Awntario, Nalyssa, Aizik, Ahren), Corneilius and wife, Gabby (Gabriel, Azalea, Ezra), and Shakia and husband, Khalil (Xaria, Nasir).Uncle Billy and children, Cassandra, Jessica, and Daniel. On the Mazyck side from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina include Jamal's grandfather, Sam (dec'd) and grandmother, Rosa Lee AKA "Mryt".Aunt Helen and her husband, Mack (son, Neal); Uncles, Larry and his wife, Belle (three children), and Scott (one son).Jamal is also survived by his best friend, Levy Pabalan, who was more than a friend, he was his brother, a light of inspiration, and a ray of hope.Unfortunately, we will unintentionally miss some of you, please don't feel sad, just remind us.Please know that there is a lot going on, but you are truly loved and very important to us.
