Obituary of Timothy Mark Gurnett

Tim Gurnett passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was with family and friends, doing what he loved most-golfing on a beautiful day.Tim was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1959. His family moved to Colorado and he graduated from Doherty High School in Colorado Springs in 1977. Soon after, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona to attend DeVry Institute of Technology and graduated with a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology (BSEET) in 1981. Tim went on to have a full and challenging career in the tech industry, working at Motorola/ON Semiconductor for thirty-seven years.Nothing in this obituary can describe how much Tim was loved. He embraced life as few can, with a smile, an open heart, and generosity that humbled those who knew him. There were no strangers in Tim's world, only friends he hadn't met yet. He loved golf outings, backyard parties, pumpkin pie, and a good movie. His daughter, Jennifer, was his pride and joy, and he loved sharing her many accomplishments with anyone who would listen. Tim always showed up with a quick smile, an infectious laugh, and back-up beer, just in case.He will be missed and those who called him friend, brother, son, and father already feel the loss of his beautiful soul.Tim was preceded in death by his father, Eugene.He is survived by daughter, Jennifer; mother, Marilyn; brothers, Joe, Steve (Barb), Mitch (Denise), Jon (Melissa) and Phil (Tammy); and many nieces and nephews.
