Obituary of Timothy Leroy Miller

Timothy Leroy Miller, 51, of Colorado Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, August 6, 2018 at Penrose St. Francis Hospital. He unexpectedly passed away due to cardiac arrest from pulmonary embolisms that developed after an injury, subsequent surgery and recovery. Tim was born October 10, 1966 in Dade City, Florida to the parents of Glenn and Shirley Miller. Directly following his graduation from Shelby High School in 1984, Tim enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he was stationed in Hawaii and proudly served until 1988. Following active duty, Tim began working for Delta Airlines in Atlanta where he worked as an Automation Analyst to a Sr. Process Engineer until he retired in July 2008.During his time at Delta, Tim was also busy continuing his education. All while being a single father and working full time at Delta Airlines, Tim attended college at Kennesaw State University earning his general education. He then went on to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he earned his BS in Management and finally to Strayer University where he earned his MBA in Supply Chain Management.In August 2010, Tim decided to move himself and his son, Geoff, to Colorado Springs, CO where he worked for ITT as a Property Control Administrator in 2010, and finally to The Harris Corporation (acquisitioned by Peraton) where he has proudly enjoyed working these last five years. Tim leaves behind a beloved son, Geoffrey Peyton Miller, 25, of Colorado Springs. He also leaves behind extended family: Glenn E. Miller, father, North Carolina; Barbara E. Miller, step mom, North Carolina; Shirley E. Houghton, mother, Colorado Springs; Christopher O. Miller, brother, Atlanta; Scott G. Miller, brother, Colorado Springs; Kelly D. Miller, sister, Acworth; Kim D. Rash, sister, Uganda; Robert Rash, brother-in-law, Uganda; Christine C. Miller, sister, Colorado Springs; Rachel E. Miller, niece, Acworth; Caitlyn M. Miller, niece, Acworth; Aubrianna R. Miller, niece, Orlando; Ethan S. Miller, nephew, Colorado Springs; Mali Hsu, girlfriend, Colorado Springs. He is preceded in death by his step father, Stanley Houghton.Timothy Leroy Miller was a devoted father, son, brother, friend, Marine, boyfriend, lover of Christ and a loyal person to all he knew. From surfing in Hawaii, to hiking and camping in the mountains of Georgia and Colorado, to visiting Japan with his son, Tim enjoyed life and reveled in being with his friends and family learning, loving and living life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May you be dancing the tango with your Savior on the �streets of gold' Tim!
