Obituary of Rose Marie Simmons

Rose Marie Simmons, 76, wife of Charles Simmons and daughter of Robert and Lydia (Moser) Mayer, passed away August 13, 2018 of natural causes at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Rose, born August 7, 1942, graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1960. As a homemaker and housewife, Rose enjoyed music and singing with school and church choirs. At her home in Monument, Colorado, she frequently played the organ and piano. Other interests and hobbies included antiquing, wood refinishing and especially baking. She worked and served as Home Economist at the McClusky, North Dakota County Extension Office where she taught sewing, another hobby she greatly enjoyed. �Rose also served as a volunteer Girl Scout Troop Leader.Rose and her husband, Charles, married in Marion, Indiana September 24, 1960.Rose Marie is preceded in death by her son John Simmons, her parents Robert and Lydia Mayer, Brothers Elroy, Leroy and Clarence Mayer and Sisters Lorine Schlecht, Dolores Obenauer, Lillian Schlecht and Darlene Moos.Surviving Rose is her sister, Marlina Spitzer; her husband of fifty-eight years, Charles; and her son and daughter, Charles Simmons, Jr. and Voneelya Marie Simmons.Graveside Service, 9:30AM, September 11, 2018, The Medina Cemetery, 55th Avenue, South East, Medina, North Dakota, 58467, where Rose Marie will be laid to rest.
