Obituary of Carol Ann Morehouse
A Colorado native, Carol Ann Whitehorn Morehouse, passed away peacefully Wednesday August 15, 2018, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Carol was born in Pitkin, Colorado (Gunnison County), to Chester A. Whitehorn and Verna Irene (Williams) Whitehorn, January 26, 1932.�Carol attended elementary and middle school in Pitkin, and Salida High School in Salida, Colorado.�Four children were born during her marriage to Winston A. Knipp.�Linda Rae Sauer (Ed), Beverly Jean Knipp-Konik, Tricia Ann Sexton, and Michael Anthony Knipp, all of Colorado Springs.�She married Gene A. Morehouse in 1967 and co-owned the Thunderhead Restaurant in Woodland Park until 1976. They then moved�to El Dorado Springs, Missouri in 1979. Gene and Carol had one daughter, Tina Marie Ellifrits (Donnie) of Clearwater, Kansas.Carol lived in El Dorado Springs Missouri, from 1979 - 1996. She then returned to Colorado Springs where she resided until her passing.Carol had been employed by the Antlers Hotel, Village Inn (historic restaurant), Mountain Bell, Broadmoor Hotel, and Sears.�Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia Terry; and brothers, Arthur and John Whitehorn. Carol is survived by her children; Linda, Beverly, Tricia, Michael and Tina; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.There will be no services per Carol's request. Private burial and Celebration of Life will be in Poncha Springs, Colorado at a later date.
