Obituary of Phyllis Irene Stowe

Phyllis Irene Stowe, 101, died on August 23, 2018 in Monument, Colorado.She was born to Mary and John McCaulley on October 4, 1916 in the Prairie Cheese Factory near Hollandale, Wisconsin. At the age of two, Phyllis and her family moved to a farm nearby that remains in the McCaulley family to this day.Phyllis graduated from Platteville Teachers College in Platteville, Wisconsin and taught at the Long Valley Country School where she herself attended grade school. Phyllis married Wesley Stowe in 1940. They were together for sixty-five years until Wesley's death in 1995. Phyllis and Wesley enjoyed these years raising their family of six children and farming in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Together they enjoyed their retirement on Pollywog Lake near Birchwood, Wisconsin.Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Stowe; son, Ronnie Stowe; parents, Mary and John McCaulley; brothers, Harold McCaulley and Bob McCaulley; and sister, Eillen Dinse.Phyllis is survived by her sister, Dorothy Weirich; children, Rich (Toni) Stowe, Judy Stowe, Joanne (Joe) Farrell, Carol (Mike) Wallensack, and Teri Moran; fourteen beautiful grandchildren, Mike Stowe, Michelle Fulton, Gary Stowe, Matt Stowe, Natalie Ross, Heidi Anderson, Andy Stowe, Traci Paton, Mark Wallensack, Bert Veldhuizen, Bryan Veldhuizen, Derik Moran, Jennifer Moran, and Matt Young; twenty-three loving great-grandchildren; and eight caring great-great-grandchildren.Services are pending.http://www.appleyardsonline.com/obituaries
