Obituary of Johnnie Thomas Clampitt

John Thomas Clampitt, 94, of Monument, Colorado passed away September 9, 2018.He was born on January 14,1924, to William Burgess and Chestina (Shaw) Clampitt in Liberty, Missouri where he grew up.On March 14, 1943 he was united in marriage to Beannis Murray. �John was inducted into the U.S. �Army on May 19, 1943. �He served as an airplane and engine mechanic, receiving the American Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Ribbon. John served until February 25, 1946.John and Bea made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. �He built both their Kansas City home and their vacation home on the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. �John enjoyed traveling, square dancing, working on cars, boating, trap shooting, and was always building something (five vacation homes).After retirement, �John and Bea moved to the Lake of the Ozarks and wintered in Yuma, Arizona. �They moved to Monument, Colorado in September 2014.John was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters and seven half brothers and sisters.He is survived by his wife Bea Clampitt; children, John Clampitt Jr. and wife Betty, Carolyn Allen and husband Bill; �four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
