Obituary of Gerda Ida Lenear

Gerda "Mom" Ida Lenear was born in Fulda, Germany on January 8, 1946 to Franz and Josefina M�ller. She finished her walk on this earth to be reunited with loving friends and family on Friday September 28, 2018. Mom had a unique and different outlook on life that people would either take as loving or misunderstood depending on how she meant it. But no matter the situation, when Mom loved someone, you were loved by her in a way and that made you feel different. She always tried to remember birthdays and special occasions. She would be the first to call someone to let them know she was thinking about you on "Your" special day! Being a naturalized American citizen, Mom had a very unusual grasp on the English language with a German accent! With that came a few Momisms such as Solly (sorry), Ok, Kennit (Kenneth), and a few others that we wanted to mention but didn't know quite how to put them into words.Mom truly witnessed and observed others enjoyment of life and would contribute of herself to share in their enjoyment. She would carry small bags of candy and animal treats in her purse to share with others just to see the pleasure it would give them.Mom loved traveling with George, family members and close friends to many destinations across the globe. Whether it be to Las Vegas, Lake Powell, back to her childhood home of Germany or her last vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she always wanted to enjoy the different surroundings and take in everything it had to offer. She and George also loved sports and were diehard Colorado Rockies, Oakland Raiders and NASCAR Fans!Gerda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of twenty-five years, George Keairnes, Jr.; her son, J�rg Petry of Idstein, Germany; her daughters, Caroline Hart and family of Flagstaff, Arizona, Jacquline Arcelin and family of Thornton, Colorado, and Stephanie Witt and family of Detroit, Michigan; and a multitude of wonderful friends and other family. �Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Friday, October 5, 2018, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.Celebration of Life immediately following, Caddy Shack, 4856 Galley Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915.
