Obituary of Preston Lee Stewart

Preston Lee Stewart was born in Scott County Kansas on October 2, 1943 to Thomas & Mildred Stewart. He started elementary school in Grigston before his family moved to Scott City. Soon after graduation, he was shipped off to boot camp before being stationed in South Korea. On November 24, 1970, Preston married Bonnie Ivey. They settled in Scott City where they had two sons, John and Jason. Preston worked for the city of Scott City for thirty years. He retired in 2001 as the supervisor of the streets, water and sewer department. In 2012 Preston and Bonnie moved to Ellicott, Colorado to be closer to their kids and grandkids. Preston passed away in his sleep on October 19, 2018 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.He is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Guy, Dean, Robert, TJ, and Darrel; and sisters, Laura, Hazel and Anna.Preston is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Ellicott, Colorado; two sons, John (Katrina) and Jason of Ellicott, Colorado; four grandsons, Jamin, Brandon, Kordnse & Nicholas; brother, Jimmy of Garden City, Kansas; sister, Faye of Ulysses, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial Service, 10:30AM, Wednesday, November 7, 2018, First Baptist Church, 803 South College Street, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.Memorial contributions may be made to The First Baptist Church in Preston's honor.
