I just learned of Dwayne's passing and I'm in a state of shock. Prayers and healing to Dwayne's family. I worked with Dwayne for several years in the Colorado Air National Guard. He always made me smile and laugh out loud with his stories and jokes. Rest In Peace, my friend. --Linda Evans

I have many fond memories of Dwayne over the years, with growing up in the same community. One of my favorite memories is when he retired from the Air Force and organized a family reunion in Denver in a very short time. The retirement ceremony was very impressive and made even more special because Brian was a part of it. Thank you both for your service to our country. We had a great time that weekend spending time with family. Dwayne was a wonderful host! Special prayers for his family! As Dr. Seuss said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." We are smiling as we remember Dwayne. Rest in peace, dear cousin! Allan and Jeanie

When I was editor of our Cemetery Facebook page, I had a number of great online conversations with Mr Trebold. I'm glad that we finally got our new Pikes Peak National Cemetery ready in time to welcome him home.

My strongest memory of Dwayne is of a back yard BBQ at May Trumble's house. It was Dwayne, May, Nit Hamby, and me. I'm not sure what set us down the path of unbridled gut laughs, maybe it was simply being in the presence of such fine, easy going folk. The meal was excellent but the best part was just laughing for hours over anecdotes and stories 'til our guts hurt. I suppose you could say that it hurt so good! I'm not sure that I have laughed so hard since. Rest in peace Brother Dwayne, you will be sorely missed...

We spent many short summers together as kids in Campbell. I remember visiting Dwayne at his Lakewood home years ago. If I would have needed motorcycle parts I could have found some sitting in his living room. All of our conversations were lengthy and exhausting!! Phone conversations were two hours long and never ending. He was a mans man, friend to many and man who will never be forgotten. Our mothers were sisters. We will always be family. Rest In Peace my cousin. Jo
