My father was not a man of great material wealth and yet he was a very, very rich man. Dad lived his life wealthy in the grace and love of Jesus Christ, and now he is with Jesus in glory. I'm sure dad has already heard the words "Well done my good and faithful servant." It didn't matter where dad was. Be it either at a restaurant, in a parking lot, standing in line at the bank, or lying in his bed at the Hospice hospital, he would frequently include Jesus into the conversation with strangers. My father didn't tell me how to live. He lived, and let me watch him do it. My father was prayer warrior. He loved to pray for people, and watch God work miracles. If you ever asked Jack to pray for you, you know what I'm talking about. If you are sad that Jack is no longer here with us, praying for us, he would remind you of 1st John 5:14: And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us." My father was my great guiding star no matter where I was. He taught me about love, about being a good person and about living my life for God through Jesus Christ. I will continue to pattern my life after my dad, and in time when I need a little help, I will think back to all the good, long talks we had. He showed strength and love right up until his last days with us. I often heard this phrase spoken many times both to and from my father during my stay with him in Colorado Springs last month: "This isn't good-by, this is see you later in heaven!"
