She was the seventh of eight children. She is preceded in death by her parents and baby brother, Paul. Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Laell Jones; her children, Kate (Andy) Jeppson, Jacob (Yukari) Jones, Jordan Jones, Taylor (Edmond) Brock; twelve cherished grandchildren, Lauren Jeppson (16), Eli Jones (14), Riley Jones (12), Noah Jeppson (12), Cayden Hewlett (11), Easton Brock (11), Keila Jones (9), Manny Brock (9), Christian Hewlett (8), TJ Jeppson (6), Hunter Jeppson (5), and Elle Brock (3.5 months); six siblings, Cheryl VanBuskirk, Pam (JB) Jensen, Scott (Stephanie) Maynes, Jan (Ron) Ulberg, Nancy (Paul) Jones, Todd (Sue) Maynes; and many nieces and nephews.Karen grew up in Tacoma, Washington and later moved to Southern California and then Redding, California. She attended area schools and graduated in 1976 from Enterprise High School. She attended BYU in Provo, Utah where she was to meet and later marry her loving husband. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. At the young age of 24, Karen was promoted to District Manager at Kmart Apparrel. She later went on to be assistant manager of Mervyn's and was relocated to Colorado to be the store director of the Chapel Hills Mervyn's in Colorado Springs. Karen and Laell would call Colorado Springs their forever home. Despite having no formal training in interior design, Karen decided to pursue her passion, through the encouragement of friends, starting the business, Decorating on a Dime. She would go on to become the most sought after designer in the Springs, eventually creating the firm we all now know as All About Home. Five years ago, she expanded on her talents and joined with her brother, Scott, to form a premiere design-build company. With the help of her sister, Cheryl, they would go on to win dozens of awards in the years to follow. She absolutely loved her clients and the joy of transforming houses to homes of warmth and great beauty. Her God given talent was unsurpassed and will be deeply missed. Karen's love of design and of her many clients who became her friends came second only to the love she had for her family. "They say that memories are priceless and we know that this is true, but we never wanted memories, we only wanted you." Her legacy and spirit forever reside within us. Until we meet again. We would like to thank her devoted oncologist, Dr. Doebele and his staff for prolonging the memories we shared with her this past year.Friends and family are invited to:Viewing, 5:00PM - 7:00PM, Thursday, January 3, 2019, The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.Viewing, 9:00AM - 10:30AM, January 4, 2019, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,8710 Lexington Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920.Funeral Service, 11:00AM, January 4, 2019, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In lieu of flowers, Karen wanted a donation to be made in her memory to www.ucdenver.edu/lccf Events Visitation Thursday, January 3, 2019 5:00PM - 7:00PM The Springs Funeral Services - North 6575 Oakwood Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80923 Phone: 719-207-8611 Visitation Friday, January 4, 2019 9:00AM - 10:30AM The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 8710 Lexington Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80920 Funeral Service Friday, January 4, 2019 11:00AM The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 8710 Lexington Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80920
