Obituary of Lee James Koeser
Leland James Koeser was born on January 17, 1968 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania to Leland W. and Marilyn Koeser. He was the sixth, and final child, born to the family.Lee graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City, Iowa in 1986. He attended Iowa State University, graduating with an Aerospace Engineering degree, in December 1990.Employment took Lee to Seattle, Washington, to work at Boeing for five years. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1995.Lee moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1995 to pursue a job opportunity with AP Parts, a muffler company.Lee married Lori Hecht in Sac City, Iowa on July 5, 1996. The marriage was blessed with two sons, Nicholas, born on December 3, 1999 and Joshua, born on August 11, 2005.Lee completed a Masters of Business Administration at the University of Toledo in December 1998.Lee, Lori and Nicholas moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in July 2002, for Lee to pursue work with a software company.Lee is survived by his wife, Lori; sons, Nicholas and Joshua; his father, Leland; two sisters, Cathy Lucchetti and Sandra Koeser; three brothers, Steve, Mark and John Koeser. He is also survived by many brothers; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; grand-nieces; grand-nephews; and wonderful friends.Lee also leaves behind Jinx, the family cat, who he always considered a "gateway" pet (hoping it would lead to a dog...).Lee's passions included fly fishing, bicycling, brewing, singing and acting. He was a brilliant man who loved to learn. Lee was known and loved (by most) for his quick wit, sarcasm, and unfiltered opinions.Lee passed away on January 7, 2019 at the age of 50.Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, January 12, 2019, Bethel Lutheran Church, 4925 Farmingdale Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Lee's memory to Bethel Lutheran Church Choir, American Cancer Society, or Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care.
