Obituary of Betty Jean Cozzens-Knudsen
Betty Jean Cozzens-Knudsen, daughter of Lawrence Edwin and Margery (Boyd) Cozzens was born October 26, 1945 in Nampa, Idaho. Betty Jean passed away, in her home, on January 12, 2019. Betty Jean is revered for her intelligence and spunk. She earned her B.A. in Special Education in Pocatello, Idaho and a M.S. in Psychology from Montana State University. Many lives were blessed and uplifted by her work in the public school system as a School Psychologist and a teacher in Special Education. Betty Jean served as the director of Guardianship of the Arc in Arizona from 1987-2002. Her impact was far reaching and deeply affecting to those she worked with. Aside from her many career accomplishments, Betty Jean loved to express herself in poetry and creative writing. Her love of learning and her quick wit will be fondly remembered by her loved ones. Betty Jean in survived by her loving husband, Ronald Knudsen. She is the mother to four children, Dean (Jaime) Knudsen, Richard (Kim) Knudsen, Suzan (David) Knudsen and Edwin Knudsen, who preceded her passing. Betty Jean also has twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was the oldest child of a family of six. Betty Jean is survived by her sister, Carol Lynn (Greg) Barber. She is preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Boyd (Jeanine) Cozzens; and her sisters, Cheryl Anne (Dave) Peterson, Michel Dawn Rolf and Cathleen Cozzens. Betty Jean leaves a rich legacy in her many family and friends who live and cherish her.
