Obituary of Paul Douglas Youngmeyer

Paul Douglas Youngmeyer, 64, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Colorado Springs surrounded by his wife and children. Paul Youngmeyer was born January 10, 1955 to Les and Pearl Youngmeyer in Sioux City, Iowa. He went to school and helped on the family farm in Wayne, Nebraska until he graduated from Northeast Technical College in Norfolk, Nebraska in 1977. Paul moved to Colorado Springs in 1978 and worked for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) where he met the love of his life, his wife, Gail. They were married in May of 1980 and relocated to Los Alamos, New Mexico. Seven years and three children later, they moved back to Colorado Springs where he finished out his career as a network specialist with DEC, Compaq Computers and finally retiring from Hewlett-Packard in July of 2017. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He had a love of learning history, especially about WWII, and taking care of his dogs. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Micah Nathanael Gentleness Lee. Paul is survived by his wife, Gail; his children, Trisha (Joe) Touchette, Amy (David) Lee, Chris Youngmeyer and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Nicole Burrell; seven grandchildren; sister, Diane (Jon) Wilson; brother, Jim (Deb) Youngmeyer; and many nieces and nephews.
