Obituary of Elwood Lawrence Strickland

Elwood Lawrence Strickland, 83, died January 27, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born November 21, 1935 in Avon Park, Florida and was raised in Ojun, Florida by Marion Lawrence and Estene (Sumner) Strickland.Elwood left home at 15 to join the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He was a business owner for property management for multiple hospital campuses in Southern California.Elwood was a fair, loving husband and father of three children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a people-lover and a hysterical joker, cracking jokes until his very last day on Earth.His interests included financial management and he was an avid currency collector.Elwood is preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Strickland.
