I was a direct report to Joe when assigned to the Provost Marshal's Office at Fort Carson. He was my mentor and advisor who taught me more about being an MP Officer than officer basic school. He was a calm and purposeful man who knew what was important. I owe him much of my success in life and I will miss his presence in our community.

Mr. Easton (sorry, I don't know your rank) - I just wanted to thank you for you sentiment. I want to especially point out that your description ("He was a calm and purposeful man who knew what was important.") really rang true , not just for me, but two of my siblings and one of my children all made comments to that effect. I and my brother even plagiarized you in our "eulogies". You really nailed it, that was exactly who he was, and what I looked up to most in him and what I've aspired to (although I can't pull it off like he did).
