Obituary of Jonathan "Jonny" Mark Gerstenberg

During the early morning of January 30, 2019, Jonathan "Jonny" Mark Gerstenberg passed too soon from this earthly life.Jonny was born on January 13, 2000, in New Braunfels, Texas. He attended The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was passionate about helping those less fortunate, hurting, or in need, often sacrificing sleep as he tirelessly listened. He was able to communicate with anyone on their level, from the littles to the bigs, CEOs to kids. He would walk into a room with his infectious smile and hug you with a genuinely kind spirit. In addition to being an accomplished Journeyman Construction worker, he most recently worked at Overdrive Raceway and was on call for David C. Cook. He was quick to listen to instruction and get the job completed. When Jonny set his mind to something, it got done. For Jonny, Saturdays were for the boys� and everyday was a Saturday! As an avid lover of the outdoors, whether on the plains joining a hunting expedition or on a mountainside strapping into his snowboard bindings, he loved spending time with friends and family. On the football field, he was passionate about playing, and loved coaching and raising up young boys to be men - not only teaching football skills, but imparting life lessons. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. �He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, and friend.Jonny is survived by his parents, Mark and Raya Gerstenberg; siblings, Joshua, Catherine and Natalie; grandmother, Vera Gerstenberg; eight uncles; nine aunts; and thirty-five first cousins.Services are scheduled as follows: a visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 1:00-3:00PM at The Springs Funeral Services,�6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
