Bill and I lost a dear friend. We shared many Air Force Men's basketball games with her. Irene was her "butt mate". We sat on a bench together to watch the games. Irene would explain what was happening during the games since her eye sight was marginal. We teased that Irene was her "seeing eye dog". We went out to eat after many games and shared happy times. Irene and Jo also shared having breast cancer together. We supported each other during these trying times. Jo and Harry visited us in Michigan on their over a month long trip around the country this summer. We got her feet into Lake Michigan and shared a sand dune ride. What a fun and exciting time. She will be greatly missed terribly. What a remarkable strong person and friend. Her smile and hugs were always welcome. Our sympathy go out to her family and friends.
