Obituary of Barbara Nell Newton-Brown

Barbara Nell Newton, 59, a twenty-four year resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 7, 2019. She was born on October 9, 1959 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to James and June (Tate) Newton. Barbara accepted Christ at the age of 10 after hearing about his love for her and was baptized at Green Grace Baptist Church in Rockford Illinois. Barbara received her formal education in Racine, Wisconsin. Barbara love singing so much, she participated in the Children's Choir. She later worked retail and decided to obtain further education in cosmetology to perfect her chosen profession. Barbara was even a lead female vocalist for The Love Expression band for a number of years before becoming a childcare provider in Racine, Wisconsin and later in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She married our father, Donnie Brown, in 1994 whom was her lifelong best friend. They shared an amazing life together and although they divorced they stayed friends, him by her side even in her death. For that we honor our father for our mother. Thank you daddy.She is preceded in death by a host of family and friends who will help make her transition smooth; her father, James Newton; her grandmother, Kate Hazelwood; and so many special friends in heaven.Barbara is survived by her loving mother, June Haliburton of Arlington, Texas; her children, Michael (Candie) Newton of Arlington, Texas, Cazz (Jessica) Brown of Nebraska and her only daughter, Etoi Sherese Brown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her loving siblings, Bridgette and Robin Newton of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Kyra Brown, Julie-Iyana Brown, Samuel Brown, Juanito Brown and Cataleya Brown; and an even longer list of loving family and friends.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Saturday, April 13, 2019, Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 3615 Vickers Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918.
