The first time we were all stationed together was Misawa AFB, Japan. That is where Anita and I were born, her April 3, and me April 4, 1962. In the following years, we would end up at or pretty close to each others respective assignments. It was 1967, our two families were stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland. Anita and I were turning 5, and our Moms decided to throw a combined birthday celebration for their two little girls. So much fun that day! I'm pretty sure that Anita and I had a couple of birthday bash combos! Germany too. Your Mom made my cake one time, and mine made Anita's. My cake was so pretty! I can still see it in my minds eye. A butterfly, with chocolate frosting, my favorite. (Anita's was a doll cake, which I was envious of, until I got a load of my butterfly!) Take comfort in knowing that she is with the love of her life now, your Dad. They will both be checking in on all of you!
