Obituary of Angela Christine Wingard
Angela Wingard, 89, of Ramah was born in April of 1930 near Calhan, Colorado to Andrew (Sr.) and Mary (Roseman) Cirbo and departed this life April 30, 2019 in Simla, Colorado. She was one of eleven children born to Andrew and Mary.Angela "Angie" received her primary and secondary education in Ramah and graduated from Ramah High School. On August 21, 1954 she married Paul Allen Wingard in Colorado Springs. After a short time in Denver, Paul and Angie moved to Simla where both became employed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (DOA). Angie worked as an office secretary over the course of her thirty-year career with the DOA, spending the majority of her career at the office in Simla and a few years in the Hugo office.In 1960, Paul and Angie moved their family to the farm near Ramah that they would own and live on for the remainder of their lives.Following retirement with a career of thirty years with the DOA, Angie returned to work with the Colorado Department of Corrections in Limon, Colorado. She worked there for several years before making her retirement final. She also held a position as the board Secretary for the Upper Big Sandy Ground Water Management District which she maintained for several years after retirement.Angie had a passion for many things in life. She was the consummate multi-tasker in maintaining balance between work, family, work on the farm, and the many activities she enjoyed doing. She was on the Ramah High School basketball and softball teams and continued to enjoy playing softball whenever possible throughout her younger years. Angie and Paul both enjoyed the sport of bowling well into their 70's, competing in leagues in Limon, Colorado Springs and Calhan. Paul and Angie also loved to dance. Angie had an appreciation for music; in particular, she enjoyed the Big Band music and classical and country music. In all her activities, Angie was a highly social person. She was an eternal optimist and had a very engaging laugh. Because of her devotion and love for her entire family, she and Paul hosted many family dinners throughout their lives.Angie was a devoted Catholic and active parishioner in the Ramah and Calhan Catholic churches.She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mary; her husband, Paul; four brothers, Alvin, Alfred, Tom and Richard; and both sisters, Mildred and Sherlene.Angie is survived by her three children, Zane (Cherie) Wingard of Greeley, Rodney Wingard of Ramah, and Chelle (Scott) Lutz of Ramah; and two lovely granddaughters, Hannah and Halle Lutz. Angie is also survived by brothers, Jim (Judy) Cirbo of Broomfield, Andy (Colleen) Cirbo of Denver, Delmar Cirbo of Limon and Edward Cirbo of Simla; and numerous nieces and nephews.Rosary, 10:30AM, followed by Memorial Mass, 11:00AM, Friday, May 10, 2019, St. Michael Catholic Church, 574 8th Street, Calhan, Colorado 80808.
