Sent to the folks at AV...where Greg worked his last 14 years... For those of you who did not have the pleasure of knowing and working with Greg Banas…well, you did not have the pleasure of knowing and working with Greg Banas. For those of you who did (and I think that Greg would admit to this), you know he was a little quirky. A very good, knowledgeable, fun guy…but quirky. But…when I would get those calls or emails from Greg…whatever time it was or wherever he was….I knew that he was asking me so that he could give the Warfighters…US and allies…the best information and the best capability that we could provide…so that those folks could defend themselves in the fight…and therefore, ultimately, defend the rest of us. And I knew he was thinking…because he told me when he was thanking me after we solved the problem…"Is this important enough to disturb Mac or Cyrus at this time of day or night?"…and I think that he thought to himself…"Mac or Cyrus would want me to call because they care the way that I care…so I am going to call." Greg was a sheepdog…a quirky sheepdog…and then supported the younger sheepdogs…to the best of his ability. And, that, is some of the highest praise that I can give to someone. We were lucky to have him work with us. I was lucky to know him and call him a friend. Mac Peebles

I have offered many Mass intentions for Greg, his family and friends. Our Shipmate was a special Sailor and Senior Chief. He was always about what he could do for others when a need came up. I'm sure Greg had lots of things he liked to do, but he loved Racquetball, Guns and RC aircraft! He was a true warrior in protecting this great Nation of ours. God Bless!!

Mr. B I cant believe you are gone, I know you are in heaven and smiling down on all of us and not in any pain. I just wanted to thank you for the positive impact you had on my life. Ive had the blessing of knowing Lori, Anya and Adam for many years since high school. You always listen with an open heart and would tell me how it is, and to get that kind of honesty is amazing.
