Obituary of Mrs. Anna Hulbert Pepper

Anna Hulbert Pepper, 85, died July 12, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born November 13, 1933 to James and Viola (Blackburn) Hulbert in Chicago, Illinois.Anna was a beloved mother and grandmother who will be forever missed.� �Anna spent her early years on the east coast, and moved west in the mid 50's. She lived in New Mexico for nearly fifty years and moved to Colorado Springs in 2003 to be closer to family. She lived at Winslow Court Retirement Community for the last six years of her life.� �She received her Bachelor Degree of Arts in English at Carleton College and her Masters Degree of Arts in English�at University of Rochester. Anna was an avid reader and always had a book (or often several books) by her side. She loved animals, studying the Bible and other religious tomes, and conversing with family and friends. She was a member of the National Wildlife Federation, The Nature Conservancy, and Phi Sigma Tau (International Honor Society in Philosophy).Anna was thoughtful, always giving cards and gifts to her friends and family and collected small toys for the children she knew and might meet. She was creative, decorating her apartment and door with self-made items expressing the holidays and seasons.She is survived by her�son, Geoffrey Black; daughter, Jennifer Black; step-son, Rev. David Small; grandchildren, Jade Dickerson, Kareen Brueckner, Devlin Richberger, Taylor Richberger, Cameron Richberger and Breanna Lopez Tum; and nine great-grandchildren.Anna will be remembered in a private family memorial gathering.Her cremated remains will be inurned at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in early 2020.Memorial contributions in Anna's memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV),� National Wildlife Federation, or The Nature Conservancy.
