Obituary of Sherry Zoe Fortmeyer

Sherry Zoe Fortmeyer, 72, went to the Lord on July 25, 2019. She went peacefully while at home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born on May 20, 1947 to Glenn and Zelda Sherwood, who preceded her in death.Sherry graduated from Asbury School of Nursing in Salina, Kansas in 1968. She worked for over thirty-five years in the OR as an operating room nurse.She was an avid seamstress, making all of her daughter's clothes as she grew up including a wedding dress when the time came. She loved music and played the piano to relax.Sherry is survived by her husband, Roger Fortmeyer; daughter, Heather (Spencer) Strand; grandkids whom she adored, Dakota Strand, Chloe Strand and Kaleb Strand; sister, Shelia (Ralph) Schmidt; and brothers, Brent (Debi) Sherwood and Barton Sherwood.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for the immediate family with a scattering of her cremated remains to follow.Memorial contributions in Sherry's memory may be mailed to:Brookdale Hospice7222 Commerce Center Drive, Suite 100Colorado Springs, Colorado 80919
