Obituary of Betty Marie Perdue
Betty Marie Perdue, age 84, died peacefully July 29, 2019 at a local care center. She was a homemaker and for many years worked in the office of Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home in Trinidad, Colorado.Betty was born September 25, 1934 in Keys, Oklahoma to the late William A. and Blanche (Morris) Woody. She was raised in Liberal, Kansas where her father was both Sheriff and Police Chief. Her family lived in the Jailhouse. She graduated from Liberal High School in 1953 and raised a family. She made a wonderful home for her two sons, Gary and Aaron. The family moved from Liberal to California in 1954 and then to Colorado Springs in 1963. They moved back to Liberal in 1965 to Limon, Colorado and then Trinidad for many years. They moved to Montrose, Colorado and then back to the Colorado Springs area.Betty loved antiques, the local Historical Society and most of all, reading. She was also very proficient in firearms and carried a gun most of her adult life.She was preceded in death by her son, Aaron Wayne Scott in 2011. Betty is survived by her son, Gary Dale (Bobbi) Scott of Montrose, Colorado; her brother, Earl William Scott, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her sister-in-law, Mary (Bob) Manley of Calhan, Colorado; and a host of other relatives and friends. Private family services with burial will be held in Liberal, Kansas. Betty will be dearly missed.
