Obituary of Susan Eitemiller

"Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is."1 John 3:2-3Sue lived with us in intimate, meaningful, free and real relationship with her Father. Her Bible (which she had to have rebound because she loved it so well) is marked at Psalm 62 where she underlined verse 8. "Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us." Sue left volumes and volumes of journals in which she recorded the thoughts of her heart before God. She lived in a constant state of pouring her heart out for God's safekeeping. Sue was and is who she is because she spent so much time over the course of her life with her heart open before the Lord; both in times of joy and in times of deep waters. She sat at His feet, curled up in His lap, sat by His side, walked with Him, danced with Him, wept with Him...and He rubbed off on her.As anyone who knows her will attest, in every interaction she left a glorious wake of inspiration, healing, joy and the nearness of Jesus. Through her kind smile, her extravagant cooking, her creative and vulnerable writing, her honest, gracious, insightful words, her unimaginable compassion and mercy, her quiet service, her fun loving attitude-through all these her life shouted this message: "You are freely, fully and extravagantly loved, without reserve, regardless of your baggage or brokenness! Me and Jesus adore you!" She lived under the boundless, glorious waterfall of God's tender love and she poured it out freely over us all.She was and is an unassumingly extraordinary woman. Because her eyes were set on Jesus, she rarely recognized the deep impact she had on people. But we all saw it and know it and now she is probably in shock as God shows her the full weight of who she is and all He did through her humble journey with Him!We will all miss her and can't wait to be with her again.Dave, Jessica, Seth and JoelleCelebrating the Life of Sue EitemillerVisitation, 1:30PM, Funeral Service immediately following, 2:00PM, Thursday, August 29, 2019, New Life Church-World Prayer Center, 11025 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80921.Memorial contributions in Sue's memory may be made to Shelter Pines, www.shelterpines.org an organization that provides rest to missionary families and for which Sue was a valuable Board Member.
