Obituary of Mark Hugh Maddox
In the late evening of September 1, 2019, Mark Hugh Maddox, 68, died in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Providentially, on the eve of a day that we celebrate the value of labor, Mark found true and eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.Mark's legacy began on March 29, 1951 in Duarte, California when James John Maddox, a decorated WWII veteran and skilled electrician, and his wife, Florence Ann, a committed homemaker, were blessed with their first born. After completing his primary and secondary education, Mark chose to attend Azusa Pacific University to pursue degrees in Business and Christian Ministry. His education complimented a calling to ministry which translated into a nearly forty-year career in Christian book publishing and public policy, but these pale in comparison to his love for his wife and three boys. He was known for his optimism, wit, infectious smile and ability to bring peace to almost any situation. These were God given gifts and the things that his family and friends will miss most. Mark was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992 and he literally smiled all the way through his last days in the ICU. If anything is inspirational, this is. Mark Maddox is loved by many but will only be missed until we join him in eternity. He is survived by his wife, Darice Maddox; sons, Ian (Laura) Maddox, Jason (Nancy) Maddox and Jeremy Mark (Kaitlyn) Maddox; granddaughter, Myka Maddox; grandsons, Brooks Maddox, Devin Smith, Isaiah Maddox and Jeremy Mark "JJ" Maddox, Jr.; and brothers, Jamie (Keeli) Maddox and Dr. Richard Maddox.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Friday, September 20, 2019, Woodmen Valley Chapel-Stone Chapel, 290 East Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80919.
