Obituary of Hyunwoo Lee

The Reverend Hyunwoo Lee, Ph. D., M. Div, was born November 1, 1945 to Chul Kyu Lee and Sang Bong Baik in Bucheon, Korea. He entered Yonsei University in 1965, served in the Korean Army from 1966 to 1969, and earned three consecutive degrees in Mathematics from Yonsei. He was a Professor of Mathematics from 1979 until 1997, when he took early retirement to pursue full-time Christian ministry. After earning a Master of Divinity in 2001, he was ordained as a Reverend in the Korean Presbyterian Church in America in 2004. He worked as a minister until his retirement.Mr. Lee was welcomed into Heaven on September 5, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, JungJa Lee; daughter, SeungAh Lee; son, Yongwon Lee; three brothers; and four grandchildren. His many character strengths will be missed, but will also live on through his surviving family.
