Obituary of Melody ra Trujillo

Melody passed through the gates from Earth to Heaven as a result of complications from Scleroderma which she had battled with courage from the age of 28 until present.Melody's story starts on June 13, 1970, the youngest daughter to John and Sharon Gonzales. Melody was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she grew up and enjoyed her childhood with her sisters, Kelly and Susie; then later, Dawn.Melody would meet the love of her life, Steven "Travis" Trujillo at 21 years old and they would continue to have a very strong dedication to each other. At the age of 28, doctors determined that she would be diagnosed with Scleroderma. This was a hard hit for her and her loved ones. John and Sharon worked very hard to help their daughter with this unforgiving , disabling, painful and terminal disease.Travis bought them a beautiful home in 2011 which included a large room where she did her artwork that consisted mostly of painting. Despite her hands becoming so tight and held closed from Scleroderma, she was determined to not let it keep her from holding a paintbrush and producing numerous beautiful paintings. Melody loved for her family to visit and celebrate holidays with them. Her family has many beautiful memories there. Her and Travis made a home with her beloved pets, Hayley, Missy and Whinnie.Melody and Travis had a deep commitment and were married in the original tiny old chapel at Rock Ledge Ranch in the Garden of the Gods on a beautiful sunny day on November 21, 2017.Melody's story doesn't end on September 8, 2019 when she left us here on this earth. She went on to pass through the gates of Heaven to live the rest of eternity. She was preceded in Heaven by her father, John F. Gonzales, Jr.; grandparents; and her father-in-law.Melody left behind her husband, Steven "Travis" Trujillo; mother, Sharon Gonzales; sisters, Kelly (Sammy) Quillin, Susan (Joseph) Reynolds and Dawn (David) Tomasello; nieces and nephews, Susan, Rebecca, Patrick, Rachel, Michael, Amber, Maria, Jasmine, Elizabeth, Sammy, Jade, Aspen and Cheyenne; mother-in-law, Sadie Trujillo; and brothers-in-law, Gabe, Juno, Patrick and Carlos (Jacquiline).Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Sunday, September 29, 2019, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909."Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believein God;believe also in me.
