Obituary of Daryll Vern Litten

Daryll Vern Litten, 80, passed into the loving arms of his Savior on October 8, 2019. Daryll fought a hard battle with cancer after his diagnosis in October of 2018. He wanted to live so badly and fought to the bitter end.Daryll was born on October 19, 1938 to Arthur and Euvonne Litten in McCook, Nebraska. He graduated from Swanton, Nebraska High School in 1954. On November 29, 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Rahe.In October 1960, he entered the United States Air Force, serving four years and completing electrician school. In 1964, Daryll and Bonnie moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he worked for Ampex and then obtained a civil service job at Fort Carson, where he advanced to supervisor of the electronics repair shop and retired after thirty-three years.Daryll loved being with his family, camping was a particular joy. He also enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors, as well as the keeping up of his beautiful home on six acres exactly the way he wanted it.Daryll is survived by his loving wife of nearly sixty years, Bonnie; daughter, Susan (Rocky) Essing and their children, Tallis, Collin, Emma, Tristan and Kaitlyn Essing; and daughter, Sharyll Thomas and her children, Joshua Jr., Justin and Jordan Thomas, and Logan Russo. He is also survived by his brothers, Gene (Jeanie) Litten and Bob Litten; and several nieces and nephews.Many thanks to Dr. Monticelli, the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, Dr. Stickwrath, Carol and Tonya of Kaiser Palliative Care, and to Abode Hospice.
