Obituary of Bernhard Artur Lothar Kirchner
Bernhard Artur Lothar Kirchner, 82, died October 23, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born May 2, 1937 to Artur A. and Marie (Lautner) Kirchner in Breslau-Schlesine, Germany. Bernhard worked as a master plumber, and while in Germany he was a coal miner. He and his wife moved to the United States in the 1960's to start a new life. Bernhard built his own home and he loved building things with wood; making cabinets and other furniture for his home.He was passionate about classical music, particularly of the work of Pavarotti. Bernhard also loved baking, especially bread. He enjoyed fishing and camping, going on trips and playing music.He is preceded in death by his wife, Nela; his parents; and brother, Wolfgang Kirchner.Bernhard is survived by his son, Bernhard Lucas Kirchner of Northville, Michigan; daughters, Adelheid "Heidi" (John) Anderson of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Sonja Doris-Maria (Beau) Hettle of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Eligh, Levigh, and Sophia; brother, Reinhard Kirchner; sisters, Rita Kirchner and Irene Kirchner; and his former spouse of thirty-three years, Adelheid Franciska Strecker.
