Obituary of Mark Christopher Barab�

Mark Christopher Barab�, 57, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, in Colorado Springs on Friday, November 15, 2019. He fought valiantly and relentlessly for eight months with GBM, a very aggressive form of brain cancer.He was born August 30, 1962 to Mary Margaret Barab� in Colorado Springs. He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Barab� (Nicholas Montoya); son, Casey Barab�; and sister, Margaret Leiser.Mark spent his childhood around the foothills of his home, meeting friends he would have for the rest of his life. Mark graduated from Coronado High School in 1981, and fell in love soon after with the manufacturing industry. Over the span of his 30+ year career, he moved his way up into the industry to become a specialized mechanical manufacturing engineer; testing, calibrating, and designing the machines that move our world.As a father, he went above and beyond every single day. He was present for every school play, dance recital, soccer practice, birthday party, flat tire, blown transmission, teenage heartbreak, and everything in between. He was the kind of person who would help at any time, with no hesitation. In times of victory, he'd cheer us on. In times of despair, he would quietly listen and console.When he loved, there was no question about it. He was always a phone call away, and to say there will be a void is an understatement. He was a listening ear, a confidant, partner in crime, and a selfless best friend. He had so much to give, and never asked for anything in return.Mark was a lover of classic rock music, animals, motorcycles, and dining out. He had a sense of humor that will be unmatched, and an outlook on life that was both beautiful and simple. In times of stress, he would always say, "Just take it one thing at a time." He was a heartfelt, supportive, forgiving, and amazing man.
