Obituary of Raymond Quimby Brown
Raymond Quimby Brown, 84, died November 19, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born January 11, 1935 to George James and Edna Bella (Gibson) Brown in Abilene, Texas.Raymond graduated from Palmer High School in 1953. He then went on to attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas; Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado; and Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Raymond married Barbara Leslie DeLaney on August 16, 1958. He spent four years serving in the United States Air Force, then worked for CDOT for twenty-nine years, where he retired as Assistant Director.He enjoyed fly fishing, golfing, and art. Raymond loved to teach art and he adored his family. He loved people was known as a true people-person.Raymond is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Barbara Brown; three daughters, Cynthia Brown, Jennifer Brown and Leslie (Daniel) Mildenberger; three grandsons, Sakic Smith, Gavin Smith and Scott Mildenberger; one granddaughter, Hannah Mildenberger; and one great-grandchild, Kyler Mildenberger.Memorial Service, 10:00AM, Saturday, November 23, 2019, Sunridge Retirement Community Chapel, 5820 Flintridge Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918.In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's memory may be made to The American Heart Association. https://www.heart.org/
