Obituary of Kelley Patrick Quigley
Kelley Patrick Quigley, age 16, passed away November 19, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born April 22, 2003 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Keith Benjamin "Ben" and Patricia Manuela (Combs) Quigley.Kelley is beloved by family and friends. He was a spirited son, who in his own way, blazed a trail in our hearts and in the local baseball community. He fell in love with the game at a very early age, often imitating his older brothers as he watched from the bleachers. As he grew older and stronger he himself stepped onto his field of dreams. He played on many teams and he loved each one differently. He always felt connected to all the other boys on his teams. He spent many a day tossing the ball with his brothers, learning the game and perfecting his pitch. It was a joy to us as parents to watch the interaction and to see him grow. Kelley's personality caused many to gravitate to him and he built many friendships over the years. He had a talent for building model tanks and airplanes, which was also a favorite hobby of his.He liked to long board and he never turned down a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Most recently he discovered that he had a green thumb. He spent this last winter/early spring gardening.Kelley succeeded in growing pumpkins and peppers but his greatest success was his tomato plants. Those plants are still growing and producing tasty tomatoes. As a son he was and will always be our baby boy, our pride and joy. As a brother he will always be that special friend. As a grandson he will be cherished always. As a cousin he will be missed. As a friend he will leave a void.He is with our Lord now and one day we will meet again. For God has called him by name and promised that he has a place for him in Heaven.(Isaiah 43, Ephesians 2)Kelley, may the angels take you into paradise, may the martyrs come to welcome you on your way, and lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem. May the choir of angels welcome you, and with Lazarus who once was poor, may you have everlasting life.Kelley is survived by his father, Ben Quigley; mother, Patty Quigley; brothers, Andrew and Nathan Quigley; maternal grandparents, Jesus and Eulalia Rodriguez; paternal grandparents, Keith and Elizabeth Quigley; uncles, aunts and several cousins.Visitation, 9:30AM-10:30AM, Mass of Christian Burial immediately following, 10:30AM, Saturday, November 23, 2019, Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 North Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917.
