My husband was Dr. William Daniel. He was a life long friend of your father, Larry, in fact he delivered you children at birth. He passed away in 2006 and I lost touch of Larry and Elaine, after his death. While talking with an old friend, here in Dublin, I was informed of Larry's death. I was saddened to hear of Dr. Howard's passing. His reputation throughout the State of Georgia endures to this day. He left quite a mark on my life. As the young son of funeral home owner in South Georgia, I remember the specialness of the "Doctor from Atlanta, who would fly to distant parts of the state to aid in criminal investigations. I was allowed to watch him during more than one examination. I was always amazed not at the process itself but with the time and effort Dr. Howard took to teach me about what he was doing and more importantly, why he was doing it. In both law enforcement and funeral service that has served me well. If my father's influence on my education wasn't enough, I can say Doctor Howard imparted to me the importance of both learning and a professional manner in what you ever were doing. Those things had import in the real world into which I grew. Even nearly 50 years later, Dr. Howard's tutelage continues to be a positive influence in my life. Blessings to his family.

I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Dr. Howard as he conducted autopsies involved with some of my investigations as a GBI Agent. It was always an interesting occasion with this fine and brilliant gentleman. He will most certainly be missed by all who know him.....

As a Special Agent with the GBI, It was always a pleasure to do an autopsy with Dr. Howard. He told such wonderful and interesting stories of his trips out West, scuba diving, flying and other pursuits. It may sound macabre. but I looked forward to a murder so I could talk with Dr. Howard. He was a consummate professional and I never witnessed a defense attorney get him rattled or get his flustered. On the contrary, I witnessed him many times make a fool out of defense attorneys.
