Grew up with the Smith Family Pat, Dale, Jason, and Sean... My fondest memory was of grilling out, playing horse in the back yard, and Jason and I making forts. The time Sean got his foot caught on the tree while "showing us how to do the swing" Dale will be greatly missed by the Hill family. Thank you for everything. Charl P Hill

I have so many good memories of Dale as my cousin. One is of him coming to Denver from Pueblo and us both taking the train back down to Pueblo. That was my very first ride on a train. With Dale, like the big brother that I didn't have, I felt so secure. That was when I was aged 6 or 7. Another time was when he came to Denver again to our home on Humboldt Street to visit. Our housekeeper wouldn't let him in because she didn't know who he was. He waited on the front porch until I got home from elementary school. That was when I was 10. Another time was years later when I moved back to Denver after 30 years in Boston. I had my two youngest children with me: Deaglan and Mary Adele who were aged 6 and 8. We were staying in my brothers' condo in the Highlands Park neighborhood. Dale made time from his job, as the Sheriff of Palmer Lake, to see me again and to meet my children, bringing souvenirs from his job. He has always been very supportive, and later to my children, whenever he could. I was so sorry that he couldn't meet my first daughter, Niamh, who has just recently moved to Colorado Springs. We were planning to go visit him soon, especially since Niamh now lives so close. Because of Dale, is why I named my first boy after his son, Sean. When Sean was born Dale"s family sent me a children's book of nursery rhymes. We read that book almost every evening before bed. I have ONLY good memories of a very special person in my life. I am very sad to have him leave us.
